The Catholicos of All Armenians received the members of the Armenian Youth Union of the ARF

On April 21, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received members of the Armenian Youth Union of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, accompanied by Ishkhan Saghatelyan, the representative of the Supreme Body of the ARF.
Conveying his paternal blessings to the representatives of the union, His Holiness emphasized that their visit to the Armenian spiritual center is a testimony of filial love and loyalty to the Armenian Church.
His Holiness expressed his appreciation to the young people for organizing a procession with torches to Tsitsernakaberd Hill every year on April 23, in which many Armenians, led by clergy, pay their respects and bow to the memory of the holy martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.
His Holiness noted that with the canonization of the victims of the Armenian Genocide, the Tsitsernakaberd memorial received a new meaning, became a sanctuary of the spirit, mind, and consciousness of the Armenian people, a source of spiritual strength and power. And in this sacred place, we ask for the intercession of our martyrs, so that with faith and trust in God, we can face the challenges facing the motherland and our people together, and make our national dreams a reality.
The Catholicos of All Armenians also considered it important that the world-wide diaspora people continue to make joint efforts for the condemnation of the Armenian Genocide, the prevention of new genocidal crimes in the world, and the victory of justice.
At the meeting, His Holiness also reflected on the challenges and security threats facing Armenia. The Armenian Patriarch emphasized that it is possible to get out of the prevailing difficult situation only by establishing a nationwide unity around the vision of the future of the motherland, removing hatred and enmity, ambitions of sectional interests from our lives.
In the current situation, the Catholicos of All Armenians imperatively noticed the spiritual awakening, urging the young people to be actively involved in the spiritual and church life, always keeping their faith in God, love and zeal for national and spiritual values, ancestral deposits and heritage strong.
At the meeting, the Armenian Patriarch answered the questions of the young people, which were related to the Church's spiritual and nation-protecting mission, the Mother See's efforts to overcome the challenges facing the motherland, and Church-state relations.
At the conclusion, the Catholicos of All Armenians once again conveyed his blessings to the Armenians, praying that the most caring Holy Right of the Risen Lord will protect our homeland and the entire Armenian nation.
