Catholicos of All Armenians Received Sharjah Executive Board Delegation

On June 27, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received the Delegation of Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan bin Khalid Al Qasimi, member of Executive Board of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates and Sheik Majid bin Abdullah Al Qassim, Director of Sharjah Department of Government Relations.
His Holiness expressed his satisfaction on the occasi on of the visit of the Delegation, stressing that such visits make a significant contribution to the process of establishing close relations between the two countries. The efforts made by the Ambassadors of the two countries were welcomed.
Catholicos of All Armenians highlighted the relations between UAE, particularly the relations established between Sharjah and Armenia, which are a beautiful example of interreligious and intercultural tolerance and interaction, also reflected on his recent visit to Sharjah and his participation in the inter-religious event organized within the framework of the Tolerance Year.
His Holiness confirmed that the centuries-old relations between Armenian and Arab people are rich with honest manifestations of tolerance and brotherhood. The best example of this is the renovation of the Haghartsin monastic complex by His Highness Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, member of the UAE Supreme Council and Governor of Sharjah. His Holiness informed that inter-religious dialogues will be organized in the near future in the Haghartsin monastery, which has become a symbol of inter-religious cooperation.
During the meeting, the Catholicos of All Armenians highly appreciated the steps taken by the Sharjah government towards tolerance and peaceful coexistence, preservation and restoration of religious and cultural values.
In turn, Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan bin Khalid Al Qasimi expressed gratitude to the Catholicos of All Armenians for the reception and stressed that the best examples of tolerance and peaceful coexistence are the Armenian Church and the Armenian community in Sharjah. The key point of good neighborly relations between the two countries is the establishment of cultural co-existence and religious tolerance bridges.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Holiness Karekin II, conveyed warm greetings to His Highness Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, wishing that Sharjah and his people be always in the love and blessings of the Almighty.
His Holiness expressed hope that the visit of the Delegation to Armenia will be productive, serving to the strengthening and expansion of cooperation.
