The Catholicos of All Armenians Received Germany-South Caucasus Delegation Friendly Group
On March 20, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received the delegation of the Germany-South Caucasus Friendship Group of the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, accompanied by RA NA MP Lilit Kirakosyan.
At the meeting, His Holiness emphasized the further strengthening of friendly ties between the two countries through similar visits. The Catholicos of All Armenians made a particular reference to the challenges in the region; to encroachments on the borders of Armenia; Artsakh blockade and humanitarian crisis; the issue of captive Armenians, as well as the problems of preservation of Artsakh Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage.
In this regard, the Armenian Patriarch expressed his gratitude to the German authorities for their support to Armenia and Artsakh during the 44-day war and in the post-war period, expressing hope that the international community will make consistent efforts to prevent Azerbaijan's militant policy.
Vice President of Germany-South Caucasus Friendship Group Tabea Rösner, in turn, reflected on the delegation's visit to Armenia, emphasizing that it aims to further strengthen and develop the cooperation between the two countries in various fields. The members of the delegation emphasized the establishment of peace and stability in the region.
During the conversation, a reference was made to the mission of the Armenian Church in the preservation of national identity and formation of spiritual values.
