Catholicos of All Armenians Hosted N Military Unit Officers and Their Families

On June 25, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received N Military unit officers and their families who came to the Mother See for a pilgrimage.
On the occasion of declaring 2019 as the Year of Family by the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, within the framework of the events entitled "Christian Family, Protected Homeland", organized by the Armenian Church Chaplaincy of the Armenian Armed Forces, the Armenian officers and their families had the opportunity to visit the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, get acquainted with the sanctuaries of the Armenian Church kept in the museums and historical valuable exhibits of church art, following which they met His Holiness Karekin II.
Welcoming he attendees, His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, Head Chaplain of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, highlighted the Church-army-family relationship in the preservation and strengthening of the state and touched upon the challenges facing the Armenian family.
Then, the Catholicos of All Armenians welcomed the pilgrim officers and noted with appreciation that he is happy to see the Armenian officers accompanied by their families in the Holy Etchmiadzin. His Holiness stated that the Armenian Church has always been with the Armenian officers and has supported in their patriotic service.
Speaking about the importance of Christian values and the preservation of these values in the family, His Holiness particularly stated:
“The strength of our borders is our Armenian family. Experience has shown that the tremendous states have disappeared from the history not because the foreign invaders came and enslaved them, but because of their moral decline, they have lost their value system. That is why the Church directs its primary propaganda to the Armenian family, so that it will live through the Gospel of Christ.
Only in this way our people will continue their stable course in the eternal ages”.
Emphasizing that through the power of the Lord's Cross Armenian victories have been formed over the centuries, the Catholicos of All Armenians added that in his prayers, he always asks the Lord's victorious Holy Cross to protect the Armenian soldiers.
His Holiness also expressed his appreciation to the spiritual servants of the Armenian army, to remain alongside the Armenian soldier with Christian commandments and to keep his spirit strong.
At the conclusion, His Holiness Karekin II, wished that the Armenian family, Armenian army and Armenian people continually grow and strengthen in God's Love.
