Washing of the Feet Service in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On March 28, on Holy Thursday, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; the Washing of the Feet Service was offered on the St. Trdat Open Air Altar of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
During the ceremony, following the reading of the prayers, His Holiness blessed the water and oil on the Holy Altar. Afterward, under the singing of the hymns, following the example of Jesus Christ, His Holiness knelt on the bema before the Holy Altar and washed the feet of the members of the Brotherhood of the Mother See: His Grace Bishop Vahan Hovhannisyan; Rev. Fr. Grigor Minasyan; Dn. Hakob Gevorgyan; Dn. Arman Gazazyan, student of the 5th Auditorium of the Gevorkian Theological Seminary; Martin Eurnekyan, Executive director of “Corporation America Airports”; Argentinian-Armenian entrepreneur Juan Pablo Markaryan; YSU students Artur Nigaryan and Davit Grigoryan; Artur Mikayelyan and Aram Aleksanyan, conscripts of the N military unit of the RA Defense Ministry; students of "Eurnekyan" public school Gagik Hovhannisyan, Areg Mirzoyan, Gevorg Nersisyan, as well as children Robert Asryan and Tigran Margaryan’s feet.
The ceremony was concluded with the reading of the Gospel and the “Protector” prayer of the Catholicos of All Armenians, following which the blessed oil was distributed to the faithful.
