The Catholicos of All Armenians Received the Director and Deputy Director of Mashtots Matenadaran

On August 8, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Ara Khzmalyan, the newly elected Director of the Mesrop Mashtots Matenadaran, and Vahe Torosyan, Deputy director for scientific affairs.
His Holiness, congratulating them on the occasion of assuming new positions in the Matenadaran, wished them fruitful activities for the brightness and glory of the Mashtotsyan Matenadaran.
His Holiness emphasized that Matenadaran is one of the most cherished centers of national pride, being a source of development of universal scientific and cognitive thought with its manuscript heritage.
In turn, Mr. Khzmalyan presented to His Holiness the vision for the development of Matenadaran and the upcoming plans, emphasizing the support of the Armenian Church.
During the conversation, the ways of mutual cooperation were discussed, the implementation of the most fruitful manuscript, source and translation works was highly emphasized. One of the priority issues was emphasized: the return of Armenian manuscripts to the homeland.
