Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On April 4, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received the delegation headed by Mr. Davor Ivo Stier, the head of the Croatia-Armenia friendship group of the Parliament of the Republic of Croatia, accompanied by RA NA MP Hayk Mamijanyan.

Welcoming the guests, His Holiness emphasized the further strengthening of friendly ties between the two countries through mutual parliamentary visits.

During the meeting, the Catholicos of All Armenians also referred to the challenges in the region, harassments on Armenia's borders, the blockade of Artsakh and the humanitarian crisis, the Armenians who are still being held captive, as well as the problems of preserving the Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage under the control of Azerbaijan. In this regard, the Patriarch of All Armenians welcomed the efforts of friendly countries, parliamentarians and statesmen and individuals for the support of Artsakh Armenians in international instances and protection of the right to live freely and independently.

In turn, the head of the friendship group, Mr. Davor Ivo Stier, emphasized that Armenia and Croatia, being Christian countries, have the same value system, which further strengthens the friendship of the two countries.

The head of the delegation, expressing his concerns about the situation in the region, assured His Holiness that Croatia will take measures in international forums to return the captives, preserve Armenian spiritual and cultural values, and establish peace and stability in the region.
