The Catholicos of All Armenians Received Members of the Switzerland-Armenia friendship group

On October 15, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received the delegation of the Switzerland-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, led by Stefan Müller Altermat, a member of the group.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Armenia Mr. Lukas Rosenkrats, the Swiss federal deputy Michel Mater and the general secretary of the Armenia-Switzerland parliamentary group Sargis Shahinyan were also present at the meeting.
Welcoming the visit of the guests to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the Catholicos of All Armenians noted with satisfaction that Armenian-Swiss friendly ties have a long history. His Holiness expressed his gratitude to the authorities of Switzerland for providing asylum to the Armenian Genocide survivors in their country, for showing a caring attitude towards them, and for condemning the Armenian Genocide.
At the meeting, His Holiness emphasized that the Armenian community of Switzerland also contributed to the establishment of friendly relations between the two peoples.
Referring to Azerbaijan's ongoing aggression towards Armenia, His Holiness expressed hope that Switzerland will also invest its efforts together with the international community to prevent Azerbaijan's aggression, as well as take consistent steps towards the return of captive Armenians.
In turn, Stefan Müller Altermat informed His Holiness that efforts are being made in the Parliament of the Swiss Confederation to condemn Azerbaijan's encroachments on the sovereign territory of Armenia and the Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh.
