His Holiness Karekin II Defrocks Rev. Fr. Mesrop Hunanyan and Rev. Fr. Hovhan Hovhannisyan

His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has issued a Pontifical Order whereby Rev. Fr. Mesrop Hunanyan, Spiritual Servants of the Armavir Diocese.
The unbecoming behavior of Fr. Mesrop served as the basis of defrockment for the Disciplinary Committee of the Mother See.
Based on the petition to withdraw from clerical service, Catholicos of All Armenians, has issued a Pontifical Order whereby Rev. Fr. Hovhan Hovhannisyan, Spiritual Servant of the Shirak Diocese has been defrocked.
As of this day, the defrocked clergymen are members of the laity and shall be known by their baptismal name of Boris Hunanyan and Benik Hovhannisyan.
