The Catholicos of All Armenians had a Farewell Meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Armenia

On June 22, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia Mr. Abbas Badakhshan Zohuri.
His Holiness with gratitude reflected on the Ambassador's service in Armenia, appreciating his honest attitude towards the Armenian people and the Armenian Church. His Holiness Karekin II, on behalf of the Ambassador, thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for the support shown towards Armenia in this difficult period.
In turn, Ambassador Abbas Badakhshan Zohuri, presenting to His Holiness the results and achievements of his years of service in Armenia, expressed confidence that the existing warm and friendly relations between the two countries will continue to strengthen and become more effective. Referring to the regional situation, the Ambassador emphasized the need for peaceful settlement of conflicts. Mr. Abbas Badakhshan Zohuri also stated that it is very important for Iran to have a powerful and economically developed neighbour in the form of Armenia.
During the conversation, the Catholicos of All Armenians and the Ambassador referred to the strengthening of spiritual and moral values in human life, which will contribute to making the world kinder, safer and more peaceful. The meeting also referred to the spiritual life of the Armenian community in Iran.
At the conclusion, His Holiness wished the Ambassador new success in his future activities.
