Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On June 21, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Bert-Jan Ruissen, a Dutch member of the European Parliament.

At the meeting, on behalf of the Member of Parliament Mr. Bert-Jan Ruissen His Holiness expressed his gratitude to the Dutch Parliament for the adoption of resolutions condemning the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and the blocking of the Lachine Corridor.

Referring to the blockade of Artsakh and the disastrous situation created as a result of it, as well as the issues of preserving the Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage, the Armenian Patriarch emphasized the implementation of clear and consistent steps of the international community in the direction of preventing Azerbaijani aggression and overcoming the challenges facing Artsakh Armenians.

His Holiness also expressed his gratitude to Bert-Jan Ruissen, a Dutch member of the European Parliament, for his efforts in protecting the rights of Christian minorities.
MP Bert-Jan Ruissen, condemning the sizeist policy adopted by Azerbaijan, expressed readiness to provide support in facing the problems of security and preservation of spiritual and cultural heritage of Armenia and Artsakh.

During the conversation, a reference was made to the activities of the Armenian community in the Netherlands, as well as the existing cooperation with the Sister Churches.
