Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On November 04, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; hosted Mr. Alexander Sergeev, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and his Delegation; accompanied by Mr. Ashot Saghyan, President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, and the Armenian Academicians.

Mr. Sergeev expressed his gratitude to the Pontiff of All Armenians for the warm reception, emphasizing that it was a great honor for him to be in the Spiritual Center of the Armenian people within the framework of his first visit to Armenia. At the meeting, Mr. Alexander Sergeev spoke about the current and further cooperation between the RAS and NAS RA.

Welcoming the guests, the Catholicos of All Armenians expressed his joy that the spirit of cooperation existing since the Soviet years is gaining new impetus, contributing to the overcoming of the current challenges. Referring to the imperative of the development of science, His Holiness noted the importance of the encouragement of young scientists to gain new achievements in the field of science.

Reflecting on the cooperation between the Armenian Church and the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, His Holiness stated that the development of science has always been under the attention and sponsorship of the Church.
