Prior to the Blessing of Holy Muron, the Blessing of Olive Oil was Performed

On August 23, in the St. John the Baptist and St. Vardan Chapel-baptistery, under the chairmanship of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; the blessing of Olive Oil was held. Following the Evening service, the silver pot full of olive oil was placed on the altar of the chapel-baptistry, covered with a veil. Every day from now until the Blessing of the Holy Muron, following the Evening Service, there will be a spiritual service with hymns, prayers and scripture readings.
After obtaining the necessary materials, forty days before the Blessing of the Holy Muron, the preparation period begins with the Olive oil blessing ceremony.
This year, the Blessing of Holy Muron will take place on October 1 in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, during which the Catholicos of All Armenians will bless the Holy Muron with the sacred sanctuaries of the Armenian Church, which will then be distributed to all dioceses of the Armenian Church.
