Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On 07 October, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Mr. Ezzaddin Rashid Haji, Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Iraq to the Republic of Armenia.

His Holiness wished the newly appointed Chargé d'Affaires a productive mission in Armenia for the benefit and prosperity of two count ries and peoples.

At the meeting The Armenian Pontiff reflected on the historically formed friendly ties between two countries expressing hope that the activities of Mr. Ezzaddin Rashid Haji will promote the further development and strengthening of the cooperation.

Reflecting the social life of the Armenian community in Iraq His Holiness emphasized with gratification that due to the careful attitude of the Iraq authorities, the Armenians, who found shelter in Iraq after the Armenian Genocide, had the chance to live freely in their national and spiritual lives and contribute to the country's development.

In his turn, the Charge d'Affaires of Iraq to the Republic of Armenia touched upon the results of the Armenian-Iraq cooperation and the life of the Armenian community. Mr. Ezzaddin Rashid Haji stressed the importance of the role of the Armenian Church to the strengthening of the mutual relationships.

During the conversation, they also spoke about the worrisome situation in the Middle East. The Catholicos of All Armenians prayed to the Almighty God to support the Iraq people to re-establish their peaceful, safe and prosperous life.
