Catholicos of All Armenians Received Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan 17.10.2019

On October 17, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; hosted Mr. Eiichi Hasegawa, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Japan, accompanied by Mr. Jun Yamada, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of  Japan to the Republic of Armenia.

On this occasion, His Holiness expressed His appreciation to Mr. Eiichi Hasegawa, as well as, to Ambassador Jun Yamada, for their efforts towards the development of the Japan-Armenian relations and the support in the various fields of Armenia since the Proclamation of the Armenian Independence. The Catholicos of All Armenians noted that He is deeply impressed with the progress being made in various spheres of the life of the Japanese people, emphasizing that this experience will contribute to the Armenian progress due to the established partnership.

The Pontiff of All Armenians stated with gratitude, that a close relationship has been formed between the Mother See and the Japan Embassy, due to which, with the support of Japan Authorities, Tokyo's Rehabilitation Center provides the Mother See with experts for the preservation and restoration of the spiritual-cultural values, as well as, supports to implement the project of the educational-social center in the Tavush Diocese.

In his turn, the Adviser to the Prime Minister of Japan referred to the established relations and the perspectives of further development affirming that all the efforts are being invested in the strengthening and development of the bilateral relations to gain greater achievements. 

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Japanese Delegation also visited the Museums of the Mother See.
