Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On October 28, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received a Bible Sosiety Delegation from Switzerland. The group was led by Ms. Eva Thomi, General Secretary of the Swiss Bible Society, accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Yeznik Petrosyan, General Secretary of the Armenian Bible Society, and Mr. Arshavir Gabouchyan, Project Manager of BSA.

At the meeting, His Eminence Archbishop Yeznik presented the aims of the delegation’s visit to Armenia and the effective cooperation between the two structures, noting in particular, that the guests have visited various sanctuaries on those days, got acquainted with the programs of the Armenian Bible Society and, in the coming days, they will participate in the project entitled “Walking Gospel” and the ceremony of the presentation of the 3rd video disk of the Bible translated in sign language.

Following this, Mrs. Eva Thomi, welcomed and congratulated His Holiness on the 20th anniversary of His enthronement, with gratitude, referring to the useful service of the Bible Society of Armenia in spreading the Bible via various programs. Mrs. Thomi expressed her joy on the occasion of the partnership with the Armenian Bible Society noting that this is her third visit to Armenia.

Then, the Catholicos of All Armenians conveyed His Blessings to the attendees.

Highlighting the important role and mission of the Bible Societies in spreading the words of God, the Pontiff of All Armenians welcomed the close partnership which has been formed between the Bible Societies of Switzerland and Armenia, as a result of which many God-pleasing initiatives have been implemented. In this regard, His Holiness highly appreciated the programs entitled “The Bible in sign language” and “Walking Gospel”, as well as, the training courses of the teachers being organized by the Bible Society of Armenia in cooperation with the structures and Dioceses of the Mother See.

The Pontiff of All Armenians expressed His appreciation to the United Bible Societies for its  support to the Bible Society of Armenia.

At the conclusion, the Catholicos of All Armenians exhorted the attendees to continue to enhance the cooperation and support the implementation of the programs affirming that the life of each Christian should be anchored on the Bible and Bible commandments so that they can be fruitful and peaceful.
