Catholicos of All Armenians Receives Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Armenia

On November 16, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Mr. Evangelos Tournakis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Armenia.
Welcoming the Ambassador, His Holiness wished him an effective mission in Armenia. The Armenian Patriarch, reflecting on the close cooperation between the Embassy and the Mother See, emphasized that it is based on centuries-old friendship.
The Catholicos of All Armenians expressed His gratitude to the Hellenic Republic for its support to Armenia during the difficult days of the war.
At the meeting, His Holiness also touched upon the historical ties between the two nations, speaking about the tragic losses suffered during the Ottoman Empire.
In turn, the Ambassador of Greece assured His Holiness that he would make every effort to develop the relations between the friendly countries and strengthen the Armenian-Greek cooperation. Reflecting on the regional developments, Ambassador Evangelos Tournakis expressed his concerns over the Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression.
