Remarks of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians on the Death of Seryozha Avetisyan
Dearest Family and People in Mourning,
Grief and sorrow are in all our hearts on the sad occasion of the death Seryozha Avetisyan. We are all in mourning during this difficult time and pray for the serenity and eternal rest of the soul of the child. From the depth of our heart we pray to Our God to receive in His dwellings, the Soul of the newly deceased, in peace and tranquility.
Together we will face this tragedy that shocked us all, also causing anxiety and unrest. Let us endure this grief with grace, avoid violence and let us overcome this pain and mourning with faith in God; paying tribute to the memory of our late compatriots.
Once again we pray for the repose of souls of the deceased members of the Avetisyan family, and that all the mourning hearts will be comforted by the Holy Spirit.
We pray to the Almighty God that our faithful people won’t see such tragedies again and live in peace and security.
May the Lord be with us and bless and preserve the Armenian people under the protection of His Holy Right Hand.
