The Catholicos of All Armenians Hosted the Delegation of the European Parliament

On February 21, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received the delegation of the French members of the European Parliament, co-chairmen of the friendship group with Artsakh in the Council of Europe, Mrs. Sylvie Guillaume and François Alphonse, accompanied by Mr. Gaspar Karapetyan, President of the ARF European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy.
At the meeting, the Patriarch of All Armenians expressed his gratitude to the parliamentarians for their efforts in the peaceful settlement of the Artsakh issue. His Eminence also expressed his appreciation to the ARF European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy, for consistently raising the issues of Artsakh Armenians in various European structures and protecting the just right to live freely and independently.
His Holiness, presenting to the guests the fragile situation in the region and in particular the humanitarian crisis created in Artsakh due to the blocking of the Lachin Corridor, reflected on the expectations of the Armenian people from the international community in this regard. His Eminence noticed that Azerbaijan's expansionist policy, destabilizing the region, can be prevented with the support of friendly countries and a clear position of the international community.
During the conversation, the Deputies of the Council of Europe, condemning the Azerbaijani harassments during the war and post-war period, assured His Holiness that they will continue to bring their support and cooperation to Armenia and Artsakh Armenians in the European structures.
