Statement to the participants of the conference entitled "Religions a Guarantee of Peaceful Coexistence of Nations" (Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, December 22, 2022) 24.12.2022

We, Armenian Christians and Iranian Muslims participating in the conference entitled “Religions a Guarantee of Peaceful Coexistence of Nations" jointly organized by the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as representatives of world and traditional religions, guided by the need for lasting, secure peace and affirming the importance of common humanitarian values in the development of the spiritual and social life of mankind, in ensuring universal peace, security and stability:

WE ANNOUNCE

🟣 To recognize the key significance and importance of national-religious and spiritual-moral landmarks in the sustainable development of public relations.

🟣 Condemn and reject intolerance based on friendship, ethno-cultural and religious differences, xenophobia, discrimination and conflicts.

🟣 To highlight the religious diversity of peoples as a factor in preserving universal heritage.

🟣 To encourage charity, compassion, mercy, the formation of ideals of friendly justice and solidarity, contributing to the rapprochement of societies.

🟣 Acknowledge the value of education and particularly religious education in the development of a person's self-education, as well as a respectful attitude towards other religions and cultures.

🟣 Emphasize the role of women in society and in maintaining and strengthening the family, especially the importance of the mother in raising the young generation

🟣  Unreservedly condemn extremism, radicalism and terrorism, especially on religious grounds, which are encroachment on human life and dignity, peace and security.

🟣 Condemn any actions and words that contribute to the creation of conflicts and tensions in the world and especially in our region.

🟣 Strongly condemn the falsification and manipulation of religious tenets and ideas in order to provoke conflict and tension between nations and peoples.

On the eve of the New Year and Christmas, we pray to the Almighty Lord from Holy Etchmiadzin, asking for peace for the whole world and solidarity among all people.
