Granting of the rank of Archimandrite in the Church of St. Mesrop Mashtots in Oshakan

On February 26, with the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; in the Saint Mesrop Mashtots Church of Oshakan, a ceremony of bestowing the four degrees of the private Archimandrite of the Armenian Church was held.
His Eminence Archbishop Michael Ajapahyan, Primate of the Diocese of Shirak bestowed the rank of Vardapet to Rev. Fr. Hovakim Serovbyan, member of the Brotherhood of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople, who defended his doctrinal thesis on February 23.
On the same day, the Armenian Patriarch, accompanied by Archbishop Michael, received the newly ordained Archimandrite.
His Eminence Archbishop Sahak Mashalyan, Patriarch of Constantinople and His Grace Bishop Moushegh Babayan, Grand Sacristan of the Mother See were also present at the meeting.
Afterwards, His Holiness congratulated the newly appointed Archimandrite and conveyed his message, expressing his confidence that the Archimandrite will become stronger in his mission with the feeling of the priestly rank and will continue his dedicated service in the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople, contributing to the preservation of the national values and identity of the Armenian community.
His Holiness Karekin II also referred with appreciation to the efforts and important contribution made by His Eminence Archbishop Sahak in revitalizing the spiritual and ecclesiastical life of the Armenians of Istanbul.
At the conclusion, the Catholicos of All Armenians decorated the chest of Archimandrite Poghos with a pectoral cross and blessed him with the "Protector" prayer.
