Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On January 8, the funeral service of the late Archbishop Aris Shirvanyan, member of the brotherhoof of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin was held. 

On January 7, for the last farewell, the body of the late Archbishop Aris was placed in the Saint Gayane Monastery, where the order of the church was performed under the solemnity of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians. At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Holiness Karekin II addressed his condolence remarks to the entire Brotherhood of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the relatives of the deceased Archbishop and the attending faithful people.

On January 8, a Divine Liturgy was offered in the St. Gayane Monastery. The Celebrant was Rev. Fr. Aris Tonoyan, Abbot of the ST. Shoghakat Monastery. During the sacred liturgy, the body of the late Archbishop Aris Shirvanyan was placed in front of the Holy Altar and His Grace Bishop Moushegh Babayan, Grand Sacristan of the Mother See perfromed the last order of consecration. 

Afterwards, the funeral procession moved to the Congregational Cemetery of the Mother See, where under the presidency of His Eminence Archbishop Vasken Mirzakhanyan, Director of the Ecclesiastical Conceptual Issues Office of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the burial ceremony of the late Archbishop was carried out.
