Catholicos of All Armenians Received the Participants of the Conference entitled “Russian-Armenian Strategic Partnership in the field of Education, Science and Innovation” 09.07.2021

On July 09, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; hosted the participants of the scientific-practical Conference entitled “Russian-Armenian Strategic Partnership in the field of Education, Science and Innovation”; led by Mher Shahgeldyan, Rector of the Regional Academy of Russia in Armenia; and Denis Fomin-Nilov, Rector of the State Academic University for the Humanities.

At the meeting, Mr. Shahgeldyan thanked His Holiness for the reception, informing about the successful course of the Conference, and the new cooperation being initiated between different higher educational institutions of Armenia and Russia, in the sphere of education, science and innovations.

Then, the Pontiff of All Armenians conveyed His Blessings and best wishes to the specialist of education and science, welcoming this partnership aimed at closer relations between the two countries. His Holiness highly appreciated the cooperative relations established on the basis of common values that the heads of the scientific-educational institutions try to serve the education and upbringing of the youth through the exchange of stored knowledge and experience.

The Patriarch highlighted the importance of the application of innovative ideas and technologies in the field of education and science; and making young people aware of them in today's world.

During the conversation, thoughts were exchanged on the centuries-old friendship between the Armenian and Russian nations, the allied relations between Armenia and Russia; a reflection was made on the developments in the region, as well as the challenges faced by Armenia and Artsakh as a result of the 44-day War of Artsakh.
