Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On July 20, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; hosted Mrs. Nathalie Loiseau, President of the Security and Defense Sub-committee of the European Parliament.

At the meeting, the Pontiff of All Armenians expressed his gratitude to the French authorities for their warm attitude towards the friendly nation, as well as, for their support to Armenia and Artsakh during the pandemic, the 44-day war and in the post-war period.

During the conversation, reference was made to the severe consequences of the Second War of Artsakh; the challenges and security issues that the people of Artsakh and Armenia facing; the barbaric attitude towards the spiritual and historical-cultural heritage of the Diocese of Artsakh in the territories under the control of Azerbaijan; the aspirations to falsify the Armenian sanctuaries; aspirations to falsify the ownership of the Armenian sanctuaries. They spoke about the steps being taken to overcome the existing problems, as well as, the social programs being implemented by the Armenian Church in favor of the displaced Artsakh families.

The Catholicos of All Armenians emphasized the importance of taking a clear stance and making maximum efforts of the international community against the threats and provocative encroachments of Azerbaijan on the Armenian borders, to contribute to the urgent resolution of the existing problems, and the establishment of the stability and peace in the region.
