Conference entitled “Contemporary Perspectives of Bible Translation and Interpretation” was Convened in the Mother See

On October 08, in the “Karekin I” Center of the Mother See, with the Blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; a Conference entitled “Contemporary Perspectives of Bible Translation and Interpretation” was held, dedicated to the 30th Anniversary the Bible Society of Armenia.
The aim of the conference is to present the latest developments and research related to the translation of the Bible.
The Conference was attended by the Members of the Brotherhood of the Mother See, students of the Gevorkian Theological Seminary, staff of the Mother See, University students, Bible scholars and scientists from Armenia, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Finland, Germany and Jordan.
The event was opened with the Blessings of His Grace Bishop Gevork Saroyan, Primate of the Diocese of Masyatsotn and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bible Society of Armenia; which was read by Rev. Fr. Adam Makaryan, Secretary of the Catholicosate Office and Member of the Board of Tustees of the Bible Society of Armenia.
His Grace Bishop Vasken Mirzakhanian, Head of the Department of Social Doctrine of the Mother See, conveyed the Blessings of the Armenian Pontiff, wishing good luck to the conference.
On behalf of the World Council of Churches, Dr. Ani Ghazaryan Drissi welcomed the participants of the event.
Lectures on the conference material were presented. It will be continued on October 09, reports will be delivered on this topic, which will be followed by discussions.
The Conference will conclude with the Blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Yeznik Petrosian, Secretary General of the Bible Society of Armenia.
